Built by an operator. For operators.
Local Trade Ops exists because the gap between "marketing help" and "real operational change" was wide enough to drive a service truck through. Trade business owners deserve a fractional COO who actually speaks the language — who knows what dispatch looks like at 7am, what a callback ratio means, and why you can't just "hire your way out of it."
Ten years working with trade and home service businesses taught us one thing above all: the businesses that cap out at $3M and burn out the owner aren't bad businesses. They're businesses without an operating system. The owner is the operating system. That's the ceiling. That's also the fix.
What our experience tells us.
Owner-dependence is the ceiling
Every business stuck below the next level is stuck because the owner is the operating system. The fix isn't more discipline. It's infrastructure.
Systems before strategy
Most trade businesses don't need more strategy. They need the operational scaffolding that makes any strategy actually run.
AI is a team member, not a tool
Modern operations include AI workers handling intake, follow-up, reporting, and dispatch — not just dashboards collecting dust.
The field is not the problem
Most trade owners are excellent at their craft. The operation around the craft is what fails. We work on the operation.
Fixed scope, fixed price
Trade owners get burned by hourly consultants. Every engagement here is productized — you know what you're getting and what it costs.
We say no
Not every business is a fit. We'd rather lose a sale than sell an audit that doesn't help.

Ben Bowen
Founder of Local Trade Ops. Ten-plus years inside trade and home service businesses — operations, hiring, customer acquisition, and now AI integration. Worked with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and landscape operators.
Built Local Trade Ops as the answer to a question he kept hearing from $1–5M trade owners: "I don't need another coach. I need someone who can install the system."
Outside of work, Ben's passion is his family. Being a Dad is the best title he has ever achieved. He loves to stay active, get outside, read everything he can and sauna cold plunge most days.
